Collection Nº 01 · Solid European oak

Arden

Generous, low-slung pieces for the living room — oak that wears its years well and looks better at ten than at one.

A dark living room with a lit wood stove, lounge chairs and warm lamplight on wood panelling

Oak, quarter-sawn and patient

Arden is built from European oak that we buy as whole logs and air-dry for three years before the first cut. Quarter-sawing wastes more of the log and shows less dramatic figure — but it gives a board that stays flat for decades, with the quiet ray fleck that oak keeps for people who wait.

The forms are deliberately low and wide: seats you sink into, tables that invite feet. Edges are broken by hand with a block plane, never routed, so every piece carries a slightly different line.
