Atelier Noord — Amsterdam-Noord
Solid wood, built slowly.
We design and build furniture in small numbered series from a former shipbuilders' hall on the IJ — oak, walnut and blackened ash, joined by hand and finished in oil.
The house view
A table should be the least disposable thing you own. So we build at the pace the timber allows — in series of twelve, joined without screws, finished with oil you can renew for decades.
The workshop
Joined by hand on the Asterweg.
Every piece is cut, joined and finished in our own hall, five minutes north of the IJ ferry. Two makers per piece, no production line, and nothing ships before the second inspection.

Why we dry our oak for three years
Kiln drying is faster. It is also how you get a tabletop that cups by Christmas. On air, patience and the moisture meter we trust.

Twelve chairs for a canal-house kitchen
A commission from the Brouwersgracht: one long table, twelve Meridian chairs, and a staircase that decided the design.
The showroom
See the timber in person.
Photographs flatten wood. Visit the hall on the Asterweg to sit in the pieces, feel the finish and see the timber that will become yours.
